pearl's lustre is a pure and unique phenomenon of light, the effect and
the surface condition of the pearl being a quality-enhancing feature.
The magical light afforded by the pearl is known as enamel, or Glaze of
the East.
The size of a freshwater cultured pearl can be from 2 to 15 mm,
depending on the growth period of the pearl. Any pearl larger than 7mm
is classified as large.
The colour of a pearl is determined by the genetic information of the
tissue cells; freshwater pearls entice us with white, cream-coloured,
pink, gold, orange, brown, violet and mauve tones
